I am Alexander Hackett, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for City Council at Large in Wilmington. As a dedicated public servant and community advocate, I bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of driving economic growth, fostering sustainable development, and making a positive impact on the lives of individuals within our community. As a proud native who grew up and obtained my education in Wilmington, and now having purchased my first home here, I am deeply invested in our community.
As a native of Delaware, I grew up and obtained my education within the city of Wilmington. In addition, I purchased my first home within the city, as well. With my roots firmly established in this city, I can confidently state that I am deeply invested in our community.
My previous roles, as well as my current role as a confidential advisor for the economic development administration, has led me to play a pivotal role in implementing transformative projects, creating quality jobs, addressing workforce disparities, and allocating funds to revitalize communities. These experiences has given me the opportunity to engage in and contribute to different initiatives such as the “Build Back Better Challenge” and the “Good Job Challenge”, which provided job opportunities within the community, as well as, nationwide infrastructure improvements.
As the founder of a staffing company, I take pride in providing over 100 people in our communities with employment opportunities, actively engaging with local businesses and contributing to the growth of the workforce.
I am a proud alumnus of Delaware State University, serving as a board member of the Delaware State University Alumni Association. Additionally, my involvement with the esteemed Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. reflects my commitment to the advancement of our brotherhood’s principles and values.
I cherish the opportunity to serve our community through initiatives such as the Community Cares Back2School Drive, TrunkorTreat, Turkey Drive, and Christmas Toy Drive, fostering a sense of togetherness and making dreams come true.
In addition to my professional accomplishments, philanthropic contributions, and community engagement, I bring a unique personal touch to my candidacy. As a former starting point guard for the Delcastle Cougars and Assistant Treasurer for the Delaware State Alumni Association, I embody a multifaceted identity that merges athleticism, alumni engagement, and community commitment.
I believe that my unique combination of professional accomplishments, commitment to community development, and multifaceted identity sets me apart as a strong candidate for State Representative in city council at large and Wilmington. With a proven track record of driving economic growth, a dedication to making a positive impact through philanthropic efforts, and a demonstrated commitment to education and community empowerment, I am confident in my ability to represent the best interests of our community.
